Hi
I am visting Diamond Creek on 13-14th Feb.
My grandfather Thomas Steward married Phoebe Gowdie in Fitzroy in 1896 but they lived in Diamond Creek, Thomas as a bricklayer. Thomas moved there from Rushworth. Later they moved to WA but I dont know when.
How can I find out more of his time in DC and the Gowdie family there?
Thomas is a son of the slightly famous William Steward (married Ann Asquith) of the initial Bendigo gold discovery fame.
Thanks
Hello Warren, we will look at our collection to see what we have for the Gowdie family. In the meantime, have you searched in Trove (trove.nla.gov.au/) as you may find quite a bit for the Gowdie family there.
